Why Walterboro?

Walterboro has a wonderful combination of small town southern charm and global access. We are positioned on the road to everywhere, strategically located on I-95, a short drive from I-26 and I-16.  We are also the crossroads of several smaller highways and are therefore the shopping and dining hub for the surrounding rural areas. For the bigger businesses, large and heavy products can reach the world as we are equidistant and Charleston and Savannah Ports.  And you can get anywhere fast via the state's largest general aviation airport, Lowcountry Regional Airport, right here in Walterboro.  Put this together with a beautiful downtown, majestic historic districts, and the glorious ACE Basin within view and Walterboro is a great choice for your business to thrive.

Starting a Business

We want to help you and your business get off on the right foot. There are some basic tasks that must be undertaken in order for this to happen. We will help you comply with state and local rules such as health standards, sales tax, and safety.  We can also help you connect with resources for planning and financing through our partnerships with a wide range of entities including the Small Business Development Centers, USDA, and more.
